KLL Rules

MAJORS

The following rules will be applied:

• The team on defense consists of 9 players. A team with less than 7 players will have to forfeit the game. In the case of a team playing with 7 players, when the 8th and 9th positions in the batting order come, these will be considered outs.
• Every player must play two defensive innings (6 outs) and be part of the continuous batting line-up.
• There is a maximum pitch count of 85 pitches at this level.  
•  When the team plays two games in a weekend, if a pitcher pitches more than 20 pitches, he cannot pitch the next game.
• Any pitcher who pitches more than 40 pitches cannot play catcher within the same game.
• Any catcher who catches for more than 3 innings will not be allowed to pitch in that game.
• The games are six innings.  In case of a tie after 6 innings one extra inning will be played. If the game is still tied after 7 innings the game will be declared a tie.

  Notwithstanding the above, in no event will a game be allowed to exceed 3 hours in length. If a game reaches 3 hours in length the umpire will immediately stop the game and the game will revert to the score at the last complete full inning played and the game will be deemed to have ended at the last  full inning played.

  There is no 5 run mercy rule.   

  If one team is up by more than 10 runs after 4 innings, the game will be stopped.

  General rules of safety apply.  Players must wear helmets to bat.  Also players waiting to bat must be INSIDE the dugout.  Only two coaches are allowed on the field when the team is on offense, a first base coach, and a third base coach. When the team is on defense, the coaches must stay in the dugout. The player playing CATCHER must wear full catcher’s gear, and an athletic cup. It is recommended that all players wear a cup.
